Daniel Mcmanigal


(B.A. Biola University; MA.B. Westminster Seminary California; PhD Christ College, Sydney) Pastor Dan is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA). He previously served as a chaplain’s assistant in Sydney, Australia and as a church planter for the OPC in Roseburg, Oregon and the URC in Portland, Oregon. He is the author of “Encountering Christ in the Covenants: An Introduction to Covenant Theology”

Martin Headman

Assistant Pastor

(BSIE, University of Washington; MBA, Claremont Graduate University; MACS, Westminster Seminary California)  Pastor Martin has served as deacon and elder in the PCA, and then for about ten years as organizing pastor of Mission Presbyterian, a church plant of the PCA in La Habra, CA. A Seattle native, Martin and his family have recently relocated to the Seattle area. They are thrilled to live here, and to be a part of the body of Christ at Hope Presbyterian. 

Toby Welch

Assistant Pastor

(B.S. and M.S, Lamar University; current studies: MAT, Whitefield Seminary; Ed.D, Concordia University) Pastor Toby has served various churches for over thirty years in states such as Maryland, Kentucky, Texas, and California. He was the deaf pastor of the Deaf Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas, for seven years before he moved to Seattle, WA. He now serves as Assistant Pastor of Hope as he continues in his calling to pastor Bellevue Grace Deaf Church under the PCA. He is an American Sign Language teacher at a high school in Kirkland, and also teaches ASL classes at Hope on Sunday afternoons. 

Charles Moore


Charles is the Session Clerk at Hope and has been ruling elder for more than three years. Previously he served at Westminster OPC in Monroe, as well as Lynnwood OPC, Eastside Fellowship and Alderwood Manor Church. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi and has lived in Huntsville AL, Hammond IN, Laurel MS, Lynnwood WA and Bothell WA.  Charles came to faith as a child through Memory Program, as well as Bible camps, Bible courses and studies. He has a BS degree in Mathematics and Physics and additional training in computer programming and PC repair. 

Don Shorno


Don grew up in Michigan, joined the US Air Force, got married, and spent a year in Vietnam. After the service, Don and his wife Carol moved to Kirkland, where they became believers and joined Rose Hill Presbyterian Church. They then moved their family to the Monroe area, where Don was ordained as a deacon in Westminster OPC (Hope’s parent church). Don is responsible for Hope’s financial reports. 

Jim Sherwin


Jim was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and came to faith in his university years. During those university years he met and married Joanne. Jim graduated from the University of Alberta with a mechanical engineering degree, worked for several years in Alberta and Ontario, then moved with Joanne and their four children to Kirkland to work for Boeing. He retired in 2016. Jim was a member of the Bellewood church, and became a member of Hope when the churches merged. He has served as a deacon since 2017.
